Concrete Floor and Ceiling Scan

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was called by a local contractor to scan the floor and ceiling of an existing building prior to the installation of new plumbing lines. The scope of work on this project was to determine the location of any reinforcing steel that could be cut during the core drilling process. Upon arrival, GPRS determined the slab to be hollow core construction. It is recommended to core drill into the hollow cells of the slab to maintain the structural integrity of the building. GPRS, LLC. was able to use GPR equipment to accurately locate and mark the center of the hollow cells so the contractor could avoid the pre-tensioned cables in the solid areas of the slab, and maintain the structural integrity of the building. GPRS, LLC. was able to get to the job in a timely matter so the project could remain on schedule.

The contractor needed to install new sanitary plumbing lines and needed to saw cut the floor to achieve the necessary depth. GPRS, LLC. was able to use GPR equipment to accurately locate and mark out several conduits that would have been struck during the saw cutting process. GPRS, LLC. was able to get to the job in a timely matter so the project could remain on schedule.
