Concrete Investigation at a Condo Complex - Crystal Lake, IL

A contractor that was investigating the essential components of a condo complex in Crystal Lake, IL contacted Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Chicago for utility and concrete scanning. The contractor was in the process of renovating the complex, and they needed to know if there were any conduits or utilities in a concrete slab. During the scan, we located and traced out two layers of reinforcement and two possible conduit lines, which were running through the slab. With this valuable information about the existing utilities and reinforcement in the parking lot, the contractor was then able to perform the renovation with added confidence, and reassurance that the job would be completed safely, and on schedule.

This means that operators or persons are not exposed to high levels of radiation above or below the work zone. Along with the GSSI Sir-3000 technology, GPRS uses the RD-8000 Locator to locate live power and RF signals underground. We can also locate utilities in/under concrete via induction or conduction with an exposed or known surface utility line. This is all done in a safe, time efficient, non-destructive way.
