Concrete Inspected With GPR Technology - Miami, FloridaA General contractor needed to locate the number of structural rebar and post tension cables in concrete slab for an inspection in Midtown Miami, Florida. The area that needed to be concrete scanned, using ground penetrating radar, was located in a condominium in Miami, FL and needed the rebar and post tension cables in the concrete slab located. Thus they contacted the specialist in concrete inspection, Ron Anderson of GPRS. This application, concrete inspection, is a common job for GPR. GPRS, LLC. in South Florida took the call and mobilized to the site.

On site, GPRS was able to identify the location of the rebar and post tension cables, quickly and accurately from the 3rd to the 25th floor. They provided a report explaining the results. GPRS then collaborated with the general contractor, as to the depth and location of the rebar and post tension cables. The advantage to radar compared to X-Ray is that radar can locate rebar, post-tension cables and electrical conduits without dangerous radiation. The project was a success and why radar is “The New Way to X-Ray”.
