Concrete Scanning for Rebar and Cables

During the renovation of an Oklahoma landmark, a general contractor needed to obtain knowledge of the existing structure prior to determining the location of multiple electrical and mechanical lines in Vinita, Oklahoma. Wade Vickers-GPRS Oklahoma performed the structure scanning and marked multiple cables within the suggested areas. Since Ground Penetrating Radar shows the data in real time, the results were marked directly onto the surface using colors for the top and bottom steel, beams, and conduits within the slab. The findings were then communicated with the site superintendent so they may be explained to the structural engineer. Unlike x-ray/gamma ray, Ground Penetrating Radar is time efficient, non-hazardous and able to show real time results. The energy emitted is equivalent to 1% of a cell phone, therefore, the production of the construction site can continue without any radiation hazards.
