Former Building Footprint UST Scan – Chicago, IL

This scan was performed over a demolished building’s footprint in Chicago, IL. The general contractor planned on keeping the existing foundation for the new structure. A suspected underground storage tank was believed to be onsite and no record of its removal was available. David Hagenmayer, with Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC, was called out scan the area. David detected an anomaly which had typical characteristics of a UST. Upon further investigation by the client, the area was excavated and a confirmed UST was present. The tank was safely removed and construction was able to resume as scheduled.
