GPRS Locates PT Cables In Slab On Grade

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Jacksonville, Florida was contacted recently to locate and map post-tension cable (pt-cable, prestressed cables, etc) within a concrete slab at an apartment building. This particular association had the leasing office built slab-on-grade with post tension. This allows the soils to shift and the concrete not to crack or crumble. The client was installing anchors for new doors and support columns and wanted to avoid hitting a post-tension cable with the bolts going into the floor. The GPRS technician mapped out all the reinforcing steel in the concrete and the client was able to install all anchors without damaging the PT rods.
