GPRS Locates PT Cables - Gainesville, Florida

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems’ of Jacksonville was contacted to locate post tension cables prior to the anchoring of a sliding glass door into a concrete slab containing post-tension cables. The slab-on-grade concrete contained the cables to allow shifting of the concrete without long term cracking or crumbling. While the cables add to the structural strength they make drilling or anchoring into the concrete dangerous without having them located. A broken cable can cause structural damage or even cause injuries from all the pressure released when breaking. GPRS technicians marked all the cables in the suspect areas with tape as to not damage the finished floor being worked on. Following the investigation, all findings were discussed with the site contact to verify and ensure that all the findings were understood.
