GPR Locates Existing Conduits in Idaho Falls, Idaho

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Boise recently visited The Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls to assist Batten-Shaw Construction with a project in the boiler room. The concrete needed to be cut out to install conduits to power more equipment in the room; however, the concrete already had conduits they needed to avoid damaging first. The technician on site was able to locate the potential dangers in the slab and give precise depths on all locates.

GPRS, LLC. is contracted for many jobs such as this one to locate dangers using non-destructive testing prior to concrete cutting but especially in critical facilities like hospitals. Many hospitals are even requiring that Ground Penetrating Radar Systems be used prior to any contractor cutting or coring the concrete! Since concrete imaging only requires access to one side of the slab it’s great for slab on grade jobs such as this one.
