GPR Used To Locate Electrical Conduit - Tampa, FL

In August of 2013, a construction company contacted Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC. (GPRS) in order to locate electrical conduit in a future Dick’s Sporting Goods in Tampa, Florida. The contractor needed to make sure there were no anomalies such as electrical conduit in this area before they could cut trenches for new conduit to be run. The company contacted GPRS of Florida in order to avoid hitting any electrical conduits that may be running in the areas where they would be excavating.

Justin Rasanow, our Tampa, FL Regional Manager for GPRS was contacted in order to perform the survey at this location. Using our 1600MHz antenna radar equipment, we were able to map out the paths of electrical conduit that were running in the concrete. The contractor was pleased with our results and felt relieved that they were able to work in the area with little concern.

Below is a photo taken on-site which depicts scanning for electrical conduit by Justin Rasanow, of Tampa, FL. He was using our 1600MHz Ground Penetrating Radar antenna and an RD7000 unit to locate the electrical conduit in the areas requested for this survey.
