GPR Used To Locate Post Tension Cables

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC, is a leading GPR provider for many major cities throughout the United States. Technicians are fortunate to work on many diverse job sites and experience all types of different construction.

Recently, GPRS technicians in central Florida were called to scan at the construction site of a new Theater. The purpose of the scan was to cover parts of the main performing stage slab prior to slab cutting. Contractors were hoping to find a spot clear of steel, conduit and any other obstructions prior to cutting.

With the hand-held 1600MHz antenna, we were able to locate all steel and conduit in the slab and provide a clear spot for saw cutters. The antenna is actually able to detect objects attached to the ceiling below (as diagramed below). With GPR technology, we are able to safely scan with crew members around and produce results on the spot.
