PT cables Located - Seminole, Florida

In November of 2013, Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC. (GPRS) was contacted by The Shores on the Bayou in order to locate post-tension (PT) cables running through the roof in Seminole, Florida. The condominium association needed to make sure there were no anomalies such as post-tension cables in this area before they could drill into the roof to place new stands for air conditioning units. The company contacted GPRS of Florida in order to avoid hitting any PT cables and other anomalies that may be running in the area where they planning to drill.

Justin Rasanow, our Tampa, FL Regional Manager for GPRS was contacted in order to perform the survey at this location. Using our 1600MHz antenna radar equipment, we were able to map out the PT cable patterns and any other anomalies that were running in the roof of the building. The contractor was pleased with our results and felt relieved that they were able to work in the area knowing where and how deep the PT cables were located.

Below is a photo taken on-site which depicts post-tension patterns as well as depths in the area of concern. The PT cables are marked with wide lines having “X’s” through them. The depth written in the middle of each anomaly represents how deep the anomaly is from the surface.
