EBI Consultants recently needed to complete a job to determine if soil had been contaminated at a location in Utica, NY. In order to complete the search they had to excavate on the property. Before the digging began they wanted to make certain they would not be destroying any underground utilities in the area. EBI, who has worked with GPRS, Inc on projects all over the country, knew they could x-ray beneath the surface to find the lines. When they called the technician that covered the Upstate area they were pleased to hear he was available to complete the project the very next day.
Jim Bell of the Upstate, NY office mobilized to the site and began marking out all of the utilities that were located in the area the digging would take place. In addition to finding underground utilities, and storage tanks, Ground Penetrating Radar Systems has the ability to locate and map out rebar, post-tension and conduit prior to saw cutting and trenching, and in some cases unmarked graves.
