In April of 2014, a void restoration contractor contacted Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC. (GPRS) in order to locate all shallow utilities around a residential property in Spring Hill, Florida. The contractor needed to drill through various slabs of concrete in order to perform the deep injections that the process requires. GPRS was successfully able to mark all of the anomalies and the contractor was able to avoid hitting these utilities that could have potentially caused problems if struck during the drilling process.
Josh Brock, from our Gulf Coast Region in Florida for GPRS was contacted in order to perform the utility locating scan. Using our 1600MHz antenna and RD 7000, he was able to locate the existing anomalies and map it on the surface including depths to the top of the anomaly within a quarter inch. The contractor was pleased with the results and clear markings and felt relieved that they were able to proceed with their plans.
To the right is a photo taken on-site which depicts markings by Josh Brock, Project Manager of our Gulf Coast Region. The pipe (marked with blue tape) shown in the photo was found using our 1600MHz antenna.
