Private Utility Locating At Airport - Westchester County, PA

When digging around the runways and the flight-line area buildings at airports, the FAA uses private utility locating to ensure that none of the important lines feeding their equipment or transmitting their communications are compromised. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances they only became aware of this necessity at 6:30 on a Saturday morning. They contacted Jim James of GPRS and were happy to hear that GPRS could mobilize to the site within the hour.

Jim arrived on site and cleared the area around their approximately 1,000’ trench before noon that Saturday, allowing the FAA crews to continue working with no downtime.
