Radar Scanning for Post Tension Cables

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems provides GPR services for a variety of projects. On this project, an electrical contractor needed to install conduits by drilling through the post tension slab in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Wade Vickers-GPRS Oklahoma performed the radar scanning and marked multiple cables within the drilling areas. Wade Vickers scanned a 2’x2’ area for each drilling location. Since Ground Penetrating Radar shows the data in real time, the results were marked directly onto the surface and communicated with the site superintendent. GPRS saved the customer a significant amount of cost that could have been incurred through damages and possible injuries. Unlike x-ray/gamma ray, Ground Penetrating Radar is time efficient, non-hazardous and able to show real time results. The energy emitted is equivalent to 1% of a cell phone, therefore, the production of the construction site can continue without any radiation hazards.
