Rebar Locate - American Fork, Utah

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was contacted by Westland Construction to locate the rebar in multiple beams and CMU walls. The customer was going to anchor and use dowels in the beams to connect to slabs of concrete. The structural engineer did not want any of the dowels or anchors to hit the rebar and potentially threaten the integrity of the beams. GPRS came out and located all of the rebar throughout all of the beams.

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems used a GSSI 1600 MHz antenna for this application to locate the reinforcement. All findings were marked directly on the concrete at customers request for easy interpretation. GPR was ideal for this application due to the active work site in the surrounding areas. GPR emits no radiation and is safe for others to work in area near scan location.
