Rebar Locating At Waste Water Treatment Facility

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC. was contracted to locate reinforcing steel in the wall of a concrete water tank at the Davis Waste Water Treatment Facility prior to the installation of a slide guard for the lid of the tank. Plans for the slide guard called for multiple anchor drilling locations and didn’t allow for any of the reinforcing steel to be struck to protect the integrity of the tank. GPRS used a 1600 MHz antenna to locate the rebar, then marked its position directly on the surface with permanent black marker.
