Reinforcing Steel Located - Republican City, Nebraska

BCI Construction called Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Omaha to scan and locate reinforcing steel in 19 piers along the face of Harlan County Dam in Republican City, NE. The technician was able to locate reinforcement in order to find locations that could be drilled without causing significant structural integrity loss.

The GPR 2000 MHz antenna was used on this project to enable scanning on a rounded surface. The GPR equipment used was made by GSSI. GPR can also be used to locate post tension cables and conduits to maximize safety and minimize cost when coring or cutting concrete. GPR is also a safe alternative to X-ray and does not cause disruption or safety hazard to other workers or tenants. GPR can also be used to locate Underground storage tanks and utilities.
