Scanning For Beams And Columns - St Augustine, FloridaScanning For Beams And Columns
- St Augustine, Florida

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was contacted recently to complete GPR scanning on an old building in St. Augustine, Florida (30 miles south of Jacksonville). The contractor was installing Cell Towers on the top of the building and needed to locate columns and beams in order to place the platforms directly on top of support. GPRS technicians used a 1600 MHz antenna to scan the roof and inner wall of the building to locate the steel beams and columns. Following the investigation the contractor was able to determine where to place the mounting platforms for the towers so they would have the most structural support beneath them. In the image below you can see GPRS technician Adam Yunker scanning one of the inner walls of the building with a 1600 MHz antenna to locate a vertical column.
