SSoil Boring Location Investigation Near Burlington, VToil Boring Location Investigation Near Burlington, VT

It’s always important to have as much information as possible as to what is beneath the surface prior to Soil Boring. An Engineer had a project at a rail yard near Burlington, VT where they needed 6 soil borings at specified areas around the property. Prior to beginning the soil boring process, it was imperative to have information on what utilities were in the areas because they were not able to find any drawings of the site. The engineer contacted Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Vermont to investigate the areas using ground penetrating radar technology and radio detection. The methods that are utilized by GPRS are mobile & cost effective allowing for real time results so the project can continue. GPRS located numerous utilities passing through the proposed areas including electric, fuel lines, and compressed air lines. Because of this investigation, some of the soil borings were relocated to a safe area to ensure that no utilities were hit.

GPRS applications are both safe & cost effective that provide real time results. To learn more on the capabilities of GPRS in Vermont, contact Regional Manager, Mark Johnson, at 617.448.8098 or mark.johnson@gprsinc.com. You can also visit our website at www.gp-radar.com.
