Steel Reinforcement Found Prior To Drilling For Anchor Points - El Paso, TexasDuring the construction of a new VA Hospital, Joshua Henes of GPRS used radar scanning to mark out the existing reinforcement within the area of 80 different anchor points. These anchor points would be used in the future for window washing crews once the new building was in operation. GPRS marked any reinforcement detected during scanning prior to the general contractors drilling for these new anchor points. The findings were marked directly onto the surface using marking paint. After scanning all the required areas, GPRS walked through all the areas scanned with the general contractor to explain in detail the markings made on the surface and all the reinforcement found during the scanning process. GPRS also scanned a wall at the same site looking for rebar reinforcement. The wall that was scanned was to be used for an x-ray room once the hospital was completed. The general contractor wanted to know the layout of the rebar in the wall prior to cutting out a hole that would be turned into a window for the new x-ray facility in the hospital. GPRS scanned the wall and marked all of their findings directly on the surface of the wall with crayon. After completing the scan, all the findings were communicated to the site contact. GPRS saved the general contractor significant costs related to damages and possible injuries. ![]() ![]() Our Mission is to provide solutions to the critical problems our customers face regarding the location of hidden elements in concrete and underground.
