Structure Scanning Project - Minneapolis, MN This scan was performed on the exterior of a manufacturing facility in Minneapolis, MN. An illuminating sign with the company’s name and logo was to be installed. Each letter had a conduit stubbed out the back which needed to be fed to the interior of the building. Prior to coring holes through the reinforced concrete, the rebar that could interfere with or be damaged by drilling needed to be located. David Hagenmayer, with Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC, was called out scan the proposed coring locations. David mapped out the steel reinforcement to within ¼ inch accuracy. The client was then able to safely core holes for the conduits to set in. Because of the real-time results, the scanning and sign installation was completed within a few hours. Ground Penetrating Radar is cost effective, non-hazardous, and provides data in real time.
