This scan was performed on the site of a former shopping mall in Hammond, IN. During the initial demolition, several underground storage tanks were discovered at the site. Ground penetrating radar scanning was required to determine if there were any remaining tanks. David Hagenmayer, with Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC, was called out to scan the site to locate any additional tanks prior to an environmental company testing the soil. David was able to locate 16 additional underground storage tanks, likely used for heating oil. The client was then able to safely conduct their soil sampling and schedule a removal of the tanks in order for the property to be put back on the market. Ground Penetrating Radar is cost effective, non-hazardous, and provides data in real time.
