Utility Scan at Western Refining in Gallup, New Mexico

Refineries all over the United States are using Ground Penetrating Radar Systems to locate any dangers that may exist below the surface such as utilities and voids. Ground Penetrating Systems of Salt Lake City mobilized to Western Refining in Gallup, NM to locate any utilities that may not be correctly labeled on the refinery site maps prior to construction.  GPRS of Albuquerque was assisted on this project by the Salt Lake office and the technician on site was able to locate several utilities that were not previously mapped. A CAD file was created with the utilities mapped for the refinery’s records. 

There are many dangers on refinery job sites and soil imaging is the best way to locate those dangers below the surface prior to construction starting or heavy machinery being brought on site.
