GPR Investigation Searching For Possible Voids Beneath A Concrete Floor - Roseville, MI

An engineering company had a project inside a car parts manufacturing plant where a main plumbing line had been compromised. The concrete floor was experiencing sagging & dirt was coming up through some cracks in the floor. The engineering company had started repairs of the floor but was unaware of the extent of possible voids beneath the surface. There was heavy machinery that sat in the vicinity of where the cracks in the floor were taking place. It was a time sensitive matter to get information on the extent of the voids so nobody got hurt. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Michigan was contacted to conduct a GPR investigation of the floor. GPRS utilized a 1600 MHz high resolution antenna to scan the area of floor where suspected voids could be present. They were able to determine the extent of the voids by marking out the perimeter of where the voids started. GPRS was also able to provide the depth of when the voids started. They provided a report to the engineering company so everyone was on the same page with the results of the investigation.
