Voids and Private Utility Lines Located at Iowa Medical Examiners Parking Lot - Des Moines, Iowa

Bishop Engineering in partner with Story Construction hired Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Des Moines to locate pockets of erosion under the Iowa Medical Examiners parking lot along in order to make the needed repairs to strengthen the concrete. Private water and power lines were also located in order to allow for a new drain to be installed without damaging other utilities.

GPRS uses ground penetrating technology along with radio detection to find and mark out utilities, voids and underground storage tanks (USTs). This service makes it possible to add water, power or data (fiber) lines in effective locations without damaging existing lines saving time and money. GPR can also be used to find post-tension cables, rebar, and conduit in concrete.
