Water Line and Water Shut-Off Valve Locate - Hamilton, Ontario

GPRS Enterprises Inc. of Hamilton / Toronto was contacted by a local homeowner to conduct a survey of his property to mark out and locate the exact location of not only his water line service to his house but the water shut off valve. When the contractor paved over the main water shut off valve to the house in the driveway it was clear he needed to contact GPRS to not only map out the waterline but to locate the main valve on his property so that the water could be turned on after construction was completed. GPRS Project Manager Adrian Atkins was able to arrive at the site within 24 hours to locate the water line and the water shut-off valve using a combination of GPR, Radiodetection and a Magnetometer, giving the homeowner peace of mind to continue with the project.

For this project accuracy was the most critical aspect to the homeowner, the reason being the driveway was just freshly paved and he did not want unnecessary locations saw cut. GPRS was able to quickly determine the exact location of the water line and water shut-off valve using a combination of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Radio-detection and Magnetometer technologies.
