Bergelectric Company Winter Garden, FL GPRS, Inc was contacted by Bergelectric Company about locating rebar and post tensioning cables in a concrete slab at the new Grande Palisades Resort being built in Winter Garden, FL. Berg had a few sleeve locations that had missed the proposed wall lines. They needed to drill new holes to adjust that would hide their electrical conduits in the walls. They contacted Chris Moore with GPRS, Inc to locate all of the reinforcing steel in the concrete prior to core drilling. Once on site GPRS was able to lay out the rebar and post-tensioning in the concrete so nothing will be damaged during the drilling process. Ground penetrating radar continues to be an excellent tool for locating all types of reinforcing steel (rebar, post tensioned cables, beams, etc) in concrete.
Once the location of the steel was plotted on the surface Berg was able to continue with core drilling confident they would not have any hits. The speed and accuracy of radar impressed Berg and the stated they will contact GPRS, Inc with additional work at the Grande Palisades Resort.
