Biscayne Engineering Co. – GPR Project, Miami, FL

When Biscayne Engineering Co. of Miami, FL needed to conduct several concrete investigations on tie beams, intermediate tie beams, columns, and column footers at an upcoming construction project in Miami, FL they contacted GPRS, Inc of Orlando, FL. Biscayne Engineering was contracted to present engineering findings to the owners of the property to determine what type of loads the current structure would be able to bear.  Biscayne then contacted Ground Penetrating Radar Systems to come to Miami and determine the amount of reinforcing steel in the concrete structures listed above.  Biscayne would also need a report of the findings detailing what spacing the reinforcing steel was found as well as what “typical” findings were noticed.  Ground Penetrating Radar Systems places a high priority on customer service and accuracy in data interpretation / reporting and was willing to do what it took to get the
work done for ICS.

On site GPRS was able to scan and examine several columns, column footer, and several locations along tie beams and intermediate tie beams.  Much of the data was communicated in the field to the Biscayne Engineering representative; however, GPRS also spent time processing the data and creating and accurate and comprehensive report of the findings from the field work.  Once the report was complete and the rebar patterns and concrete information was compiled the report was sent to Biscayne Engineering for review.  Biscayne was pleased with the data and report provided from GPRS and will us in the future for concrete investigation needs.  All things considered the job was successful.
