Conduits within Concrete Located in Boise, Idaho by Using GPR

A grocery store renovation in Boise, Idaho required the mapping of sub-surface conduits in the concrete floor before saw cutting began. The store was to stay open during remodeling, so it was imperative to locate all conduits before cutting the concrete so that the power was maintained.  They called Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, LLC. of Salt Lake City, UT to ensure that no conduits were hit in the saw-cutting process.

GPRS had an office nearby in Salt Lake City and was able to quickly mobilize to the site and mapped out the location of the conduits within the concrete slab. Three 140x15 areas were scanned using GSSI Ground Penetrating Radar technology. GPR is also frequently used in retail settings because it does not use any sort of harmful radiation that would require moving customers or workers during business hours and it does not need to have an overnight crew present.
