GPRS Concrete Scan in Denver Tech CenterGround Penetrating Radar Systems of Denver was recently contacted by B&P Construction to use their ground penetrating radar technology to scan the concrete for rebar, post tension cables, as well as electrical conduits prior to coring at a Greenwood Village, Colorado bank (in the Denver Tech Center). There was also the concern of striking any security lines in the floor related to the bank vault. The contractor was on a strict schedule and need GPRS to come out the same day and work overnight A GPRS technician was able to mobilize to the site on very short notice and complete the task. Once on site, Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was quickly able to determine the concrete slab thickness, the location of the rebar, post tension cables as well as an electrical conduit in the area of the cores. The items located were marked directly on the concrete slab, so that the customer could have the cores done that same night. Ground Penetrating Radar is ideal for locating of rebar, post-tension cables prior to saw cutting and/or core drilling, mapping of electrical conduits, detection of near-surface voids and utilities, and detection of underground storage tanks. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems can also perform concrete inspections. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems provides GPR services throughout Colorado, including the greater Denver and Colorado Springs areas. GPR is commonly confused with concrete x-ray and is sometimes referred to ground sonar, ground radar, concrete scan, concrete survey and sonar.
