Roesch Home Movers – GPR Project in Brooksville, FL

When the Roesch Home Movers of Largo, FL needed to determine the presence of reinforcing steel as well as concrete thickness in a recently poured monolithic concrete slab in Brooksville, FL they contacted GPRS, Inc of Orlando, FL.

indicating the wire mesh.

On site GPRS scanned a 10’x6’ concrete slab to confirm the findings over a large area.  It was determine that the slab contained 6”x6” weld wire mesh near the bottom of the concrete.  The concrete thickness was determined to be between 4” and 5”.  A report of the findings was provided to Roesch and all parties were pleased as the findings confirmed that the concrete slab had been constructed and poured as per the specifications indicated in the plans.  Additionally, a report of the findings was provided to Roesch for their records.  Ground penetrating radar is a great tool for determining the presence of reinforcing steel in concrete and is extremely accurate.  The other great advantage is that there is no destruction to the concrete when the testing is performed.  These pieces of information were critical to project moving forward.  Overall the project was a success and the Roesch was highly satisfied with the information and data ground penetrating radar was able to provide on their project.
