Utilities Located For Standard Renewable Energy
- Boulder, Colorado

Standard Renewable Energy of Boulder, Colorado contacted Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Denver, Colorado before installing ground-mounted solar panels. They needed to know what was below the surface at a residential site in Evergreen, Colorado so that when installing the solar panels the installation did not harm any utilities that were close by. On site GPRS was able to use GPR technology to scan the entire area for hazards. Although no typical utilities were present under the surface, the Ground Penetrating Radar was able to locate a leach field that was only 18 inches below the surface. The located leach field and associated pipes were painted on the surface so that the solar panel installation could safely continue. There is no radiation hazard associated with the radar scan; the scanning could take place without removing any residents from their homes.
